Unanswered Prayer: What causes it?

Why aren't your prayers answered?

Answered PRAYER: Getting what you pray for is completely dependant upon you!

Turn in your Bible to the [ Gospel of Mark chapter 11, verse 24 ] where you will read Jesus saying the following:

"Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire,
when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."

In that passage Jesus clearly states that we can have whatever we desire if we have the faith in God to believe that we receive from Him what we desire - WHEN - we pray for it.

The sequence:
GET THE FAITH TO BELIEVE GOD'S PROMISES 1st
and then, pray your prayer.

A major reason why people do not receive what they pray for is that
they hold to - the evil MENTAL STRONGHOLD - that says:

--------------- "I'm just leaving it up to God." ------

Whatever the Lord wills for me will come my way".

While it is essential to seek God's will for our lives
and then to desire only what He desires for us,
it is even more essential that
when He clearly tells us what His will is for us,
that we do it!

In [ Mark 11:24 ], God said that He is leaving whether or not our prayers are answered,
completely UP TO US.

The MENTAL STRONGHOLD - contradicts - the word of God
and we know that anything that contradicts the word of God
cannot possibly be right.

God's made our having what we desire completely dependant upon us
and what we are willing to believe Him for.

GOD'S WORD IS HIS WILL.

And since, Jesus spoke while here on earth only what God, His Father told Him to speak,then it was clearly God's will that we have "whatsoever" - WE - desire.

So, to receive answers to our prayers we must FIRST desire something.

Most people succeed at that part.
What do you desire?
Keep that in mind.

Notice, that it is GOD'S WILL that you have WHATSOEVER you desire.

It is His DESIRE that you have whatsoever you desire.

So, why then would you disobey God and leave it up to Him to determine what it is YOU desire, when He has already left it up to you?

God said that you are to have what YOU desire.

Apparently then, He is not worried that you will desire the wrong thing
because He has put no limits on what you can desire.

What God does do, though,
is make your reception of what you desire- CONTINGENT upon - you
believing that you receive whatsoever you desire - WHEN - you pray to Him for it.

Again, remember what it is YOU desire.

Do you believe that you will receive what you desire right now if you were to pray to God and ask Him for it?

If so, do it now!
But if not, WHY NOT?

It is because you choose TO NOT BELIEVE
that God wants you to have "whatsoever you desire",
even though Jesus plainly tells you that.

What must you do to CEASE DOUBTING what the Bible says!

RESOLVE to believe that the Bible is indeed the word and will of God and then read the passage over and over again until the doubting ceases.

IT WILL CEASE WHEN ENOUGH FAITH COMES TO YOUR SPIRIT.

QUESTION from a reader:
what if in our imperfection we desire something that is not good for usand is contrary to his will for us?
ANSWER: God said that His "people perish for lack of knowledge".

God will give to you whatever you desire, so make sure that what you desire from Him is provided for you in His word.

For example, it was not God's will that Israel should ever have a King other than Him!
But Israel demanded a King so God gave them one.

Another example: "It is not God's will that any man should perish"
but that all should repent of their sins and follow God's will for their lives.
That has not happened.

Another example, Jesus told us in the Lord's prayer to pray that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Apparently, God's will is not being done on earth.
